DQ Entertainment has signed a duo of deals on the distribution and co-pro front.

Buena Vista International, the distribution arm of The Walt Disney Company, has closed an exclusive broadcasting agreement for the 3-D animated TV series The Jungle Book (52 x 11 minutes), which gives the various channels of the House of Mouse exclusive broadcasting rights in 29 countries across the Indian sub-continent and Southeast Asia, including South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan.

The series is a co-pro with ZDF Enterprises and ZDF Broadcasting (Germany), ABC (Australia), NBC Universal as well as broadcasting and licensing majors TF1 Group (France) and Moonscoop (France).

Meanwhile, DQE’s also joined forces with Family Friendly Films Animation and Blackmon Entertainment, signing a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) as exclusive producers and co-pro partners for development, promotion, marketing and distribution of the action-adventure film Land of Boo 3-D An Urban Fairy Tale.

The CGI full-feature animation film is the first of six 3-D global animation films currently in development, slated for a 2011 release. It follows the story of a disenchanted boy on the Gulf Coast who gets caught in the Katrina disaster, nearly drowns and suddenly finds himself in the undersea fantasy Land of Boo.
