Disney is hopping on the vampires and wolves bandwagon, signing a multi-book publishing deal with bestselling YA author Melissa de la Cruz (Blue Bloods series).

Entitled Wolf Pact, the new Disney-Hyperion series revolves around the adventures of Bliss Llewellyn (from the Blue Bloods books) as she embarks on a quest to find the Hounds of Hell and convince them to join the Blue Blood vampires in their war against the Silver Bloods.

Disney-Hyperion has acquired two books in this series, along with three companion books to the Blue Bloods series.

Book one is slated for publication in winter 2011, along with Blue Bloods: Bloody Valentine. Blue Bloods: Keys to the Repository hits shelves in summer 2010 with short stories and an encyclopedia to the world, and Blue Bloods: The Graphic Novel will be published in summer 2011.

Jennifer Besser, executive editor of the Disney Book Group, acquired North American rights for Wolf Pact and world rights for the Blue Bloods books. She will continue to edit de la Cruz.
