NHK honors winners in educational media

Japanese broadcaster NHK has announced this year’s winners of the Japan Price, which recognizes excellence in educational media.

Little Airplane’s The Wonder Pets! took home the Maeda Prize for best entry in the series category.

The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Prize for best preschool media went to What’s Your News from the UK’s TT Animation.

The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Prize for best primary-age media went to Merle from KRO in the Netherlands.

The National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan Special Prize for the best proposal that promotes literacy went to Tsehai’s Fidel School from WhizKids Workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

And the Grand Prix Japan Prize, which was selected among the category winners in the Audiovisual Division, went to TT’s What’s Your News.
