HIT Entertainment and Bandai Namco Group’s Pleasurecast Attractinos are opening the doors to the first indoor Thomas-themed amusement park in Japan.

Thomas Town Shinmisato is housed in the new Lala Port Shin Misato shopping center on the site of the former Musashino Railway Shunting Yard, where the Japanese railway industry was born, of course. The facility has five themed zones including an English Market Place, the main area for themed events (mini-live stage shows, carnivals). It uses a special Thomas & Friends currency to pay for rides and games, and up to half a million visitors are expected in the first year.

Other features include an attraction zone with a Thomas & Friends dark ride and a Cranky play structure, an educational and craft area with a library and activity zone, a café and museum for moms to relax, and a Thomas retail shop.

Pleasurecast had partnered with the UK-based design company RMA, which was commissioned by HIT and Drayton Manor Theme Park to design and project manage Thomas Land in the UK.
