As Hasbro’s shooter brand Nerf celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, Electronic Arts’ Play label is gearing up to launch the second iteration of its Nerf-branded game.

Nerf 2: N-Strike Elite is the follow-up to the first title, which debuted at retail this past holiday season and was EA’s second-best selling Wii title, as well as a Top 20 Wii title in 2008 by revenue, according to The NPD Group.

The new game, scheduled for a fall release, will be bundled with a newly designed Nerf Switch Shot EX-3 blaster along with an attachable decoder lens that will uncover secret messages. The Wii-mote snaps directly into the blaster to get the true feel of a shooter-style gameplay.
