Cartoon Network made some headway in the ratings race as the finale of Total Drama Island set new audience delivery records for the net last week.
Prelim data from Nielsen reveals that the series, the net’s anchor on its Har Har Tharsdays block (Thursdays 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.), clocked in at the top spot on December 11 in primetime with kids two to 11, six to 11 and nine to 14 across US broadcast and cable.
The net earned ad-supported cable’s top network ranking for total day delivery of tweens nine to 14, boys in the same demo and in the six to 11 range. TDI can also boast that it’s now the number-one telecast in CN history among tweens nine to 14, as well as the most-watched kids telecast for kids six to 11 since September 8, 2000 with Premiere Premiere.
Not stopping there, TDI also scored the number-one program of the day on all television among the three kids demos and the number one CN telecast ever with girls nine to 14. Compared to the same time period last year, TDI posted all-around triple-digit delivery and ratings increases from 100% to a whopping 414% with all age demos.
