Mothercare’s Horrid Henry nightwear, which launched last week in 100 stores across the UK, has performed well enough for CPLG to begin planning the next wave of merch for Spring 2009.

The deal, brokered by CPLG, is the entertainment division’s first direct-to-retail pact with Mothercare and will expand to include slippers and socks in the coming weeks and apparel and footwear next year.

Since launching on CITV in 2006, the Horrid Henry, produced by Novel Entertainment, has become CITV’s most successful series ever.
Currently airing on ITV1 every Saturday morning, and daily on the CITV Channel, the series also has attracted more than four million visits to its microsite.
