Disney Channel Worldwide’s global original programming division has commissioned Pirates of the Carribbean star, Giles New and My Family star Keiron Self to develop a new children’s series in the UK.

Gwyn (working title) was originally written for BBC Radio Wales and is now being adapted as a long-form animated comedy for Disney Channel.

Disney Channel’s London-based global original programming hub was established to develop live-action and animation outside of North America, for both European and global distribution. The division launched its first series in May this year, an updated, animated version of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five co-produced with Chorion and Marathon Media.
