Stardoll tops UK kids websites: Nielsen

Kids entertainment, fashion and gossip website Stardoll has the greatest percentage of unique visitors 12 and under in the UK, according to a new report by Nielsen Online, a service of The Nielsen Company.

Kids entertainment, fashion and gossip website Stardoll has the greatest percentage of unique visitors 12 and under in the UK, according to a new report by Nielsen Online, a service of The Nielsen Company.

The report states that 32% of the target demo visits the site. Club Penguin ranked second with 29% and Nick.com and LEGO.com tied for third with 25% of the under-12 crowd. The list of the top ten sites is then padded out by the internet homes of the region’s major broadcasters, including Cartoon Network (24%), CBBC (24%), CBeebies (20%), Disney International (19%), RuneScape (16%) and MiniClip (15%).

For the 12 to 17 demo, the most popular sites housed games, mobile phone apps and social networking. Frengo enjoyed 26% of the audience, followed by RuneScape (25%) and Bebo (19%).
