Scholastic Audio is launching the audiobook version of the company’s brand-new interactive multi-media adventure series The 39 Clues on September 9, 2008.

The audiobook version of the first book The Maze of Bones will be released in the US and Canada in tandem with the launch of the book publishing program, including the hardcover edition of Book 1, scheduled for simultaneous publication by Scholastic in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada..

As well, the online game at www.the39clues.com will launch on September 9, 2008.

The entire story will span 10 books, 355 collectible cards, an online game and a theatrical release from DreamWorks.

The 39 Clues revolves around the Cahills, a powerful family dynasty, whose source of power is a mystery that can only be unraveled by assembling 39 clues hidden around the world throughout history.

The initiative will roll out over a 24-month period culminating in the film’s theatrical release.
