Toronto, Canada-based prodco Tricon Films & Television is moving into the international kids’ space with The Next Star, a 13 x 60-minute original talent show series.

Tricon will be looking to sell format rights to the series, which was co-produced with, and currently airs on, Canadian kidnet YTV, at MIPCOM this year.

The format follows six hopefuls through a series of talent-based competitions with the audience determining the grand-prize winner.
