UK-based Chorion has tapped computer games publisher Slitherine Strategies to develop Scholastic’s Horrible Histories games for the PC, DS and Wii for worldwide distribution.

The deal, brokered by AT Brands, will bring the games to mass retail in Spring 2009.

The Horrible Histories book series has sold more than 20 million copies since it was introduced in 1993 and the game deal follows the newly sealed pact between Scholastic Entertainment and Lion TV to produce 13 eps of live-action series based on the books. BBC has snapped up the series for broadcast next spring.
