The Asian Animation Round Grand Pitch 2008 is making a call for entries for the event taking place between November 7 and 9 in Gangwon, South Korea that select four finalists and move their toon projects into series production.

South Korean animation house GMIC is hosting the event and is inviting all comers to submit their projects, regardless of nationality. Applications are available at www.pitchtoworld.org and www.gimcanimation.com and projects will be accepted until the end of September. At that time, an international panel of judges will determine which animators move onto the final pitch session in Gangwon.

First prize is US$50,000 and three second-place prizes of US$20,000 are also available. However, the real prize for animators is that GIMC will initiate international financing, largely through US, Japanese, Chinese and Korean co-pro partners, for the winning toon concepts and is aiming to have them on the air in about a year after the competition.
