Entertainment Rights has launched preschool series Postman Pat on China’s national television network CCTV and, at the same time, has inked a number of international broadcast deals for brand-new Pat series, Postman Pat – Special Delivery Service.

CCTV is China’s national broadcast platform and its dedicated children channel launched Postman Pat on July 7.

Other newly signed key deals include ABC (Australia), DRTV (Denmark), TV4 (Sweden), Rai Sat (Italy) MNET (South Africa), MBC (Middle East), ATV (Hong Kong) and True Vision (Thailand). SF Norge (Nordics) and Lusamondo (Portugal) have also come on board as DVD partners for the region.

Also as part of ER’s China strategy, it has also secured a deal with DVD distributor YiZhoRen and with U Young, CCTV’s advertising agency to act as ER’s exclusive licensing agent in the region.

ER is currently in discussions with two major publishing partners to be finalized in Q3 this year, with consumer products set to roll out in 2009.
