Toronto, Canada-based Shaftesbury Films has acquired Smokebomb Entertainment, an award-winning developer of original multiplatform digital content.
Executive producers Daniel Dales and Jarrett Sherman will be heading up Shaftesbury Films’ new digital media division.
Shaftesbury and Smokebomb recently collaborated on podcasts for the Family Channel series Life with Derek website. Smokebomb will continue to use the their name while the company will move into Shaftesbury’s headquarters mid-summer.
The company aims to create a minimum of two original online series for production in the first year.
