Things anything but gloomy for Ruby

Nelvana Enterprises has inked a fresh slate of international licensing deals for the teen/tween fashion property Ruby Gloom.

New licensees include Sony Music Entertainment for a CD single in Japan, Australia’s Designworks has designed a line of t-shirts that will retail in more than 240 Jay Jays youth apparel stores starting in July. The firm will also design Ruby Gloom bedding for Spotlight Stores throughout Oz. Impact Rock has signed on to produce posters in the territories.

Palacio de Hierro, meanwhile, is launching an apparel line in Mexico in October and Carlton Cards (social expressions), Rhinox (bags) and Scribe (stationery) have also signed deals for the territories. And over in Spain and Portugal, Sportandem will launch back-to-school merchandise and bags at the end of 2008.

Italy’s Dream Colours is rolling out apparel and accessories, ceramic mugs and plush for the fall, while Edibas will be looking after posters, stickers and calendars in the country.

And finally, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, The Cookie Company is working on an apparel and accessories line for a September 2008 retail debut.
