Brian Goldner has been tapped to take the post of CEO at Pawtucket, Rhode Island-based toyco Hasbro, succeeding Alfred J. Verrechia, who moves over to the post of chairman of the board. Goldner then named 26-year company vet David Hargreaves as the company’s new COO.

In his new role, Hargreaves will have day-to-day responsibility for the in-market execution of Hasbro’s sales and marketing strategies around the world, as well as global manufacturing and sourcing operations. He will also remain Hasbro’s CFO.

Before joining the company in 1982, Hargreaves held several finance positions in the automobile industry in Europe, including stints with both the Ford Motor Company and DeLorean Motor Cars.
