Columbia Pictures has inked a deal with Scholastic Media to bring the Goosebumps book series to the silver screen.
R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series has been published in more than 32 languages and moved more than 300 million copies worldwide. It previously had been adapted by Scholastic Entertainment for TV for the Fox Kids Network, and the show currently airs in more than 100 countries.
The studio will begin developing the first Goosebumps installment immediately. Andrea Giannetti will oversee the project on behalf of the studio working closely with Original Films and Scholastic, while Scholastic chief Deborah Forte is taking up a producer role.
A release date for the project has yet to be set
