FremantleMedia has landed the exclusive licensing rights to PBS Kids hit WordWorld in North America and English-speaking territories. The goal is to build on a US toy program currently playing out at Target with a wide range of additional product categories that emphasize the property’s focus on preschool worldplay. Fremantle will no doubt hit Licensing Show hard scouting for licensees to bulk up the property’s consumer products revenues.

The show at the heart of all this activity is produced by PBS Kids, funded partially by the US Department of Education as part of its ‘Ready to Learn’ literacy initiative.
