Jetix Europe is gearing up to launch a special online football tournament for kids this summer in conjunction with the Euro 2008 tournament.

The Euro Galactik Cup rolls out across 17 countries from May 16 in the lead up to the tourney and will also tie-in with the airing of the second season of Jetix/Alphanim series Galactik Football.

Consisting of new skills-based games that have been developed by Jetix Digital Media Group, participants in the Galactik Cup will earn points for their country by playing the online games, which will include penalty shoot-outs, dribbling and goalkeeping tests.

In addition, each country will have its own national league table and kids can win prizes and see how they rank both nationally and internationally. The top scorers from each country are then entered into a draw to win a chance for their local or school football team to spend five days at the prestigious Euro Soccer Camp in Marbella, where they will learn soccer skills that could make them future European football stars.

The tournament will be at the heart of Jetix’ Football Month, which will see Jetix channels across Europe running on-air competitions and football-related content.
