Coming out of MIPTV, Germany’s EM.Entertainment has sealed a deal with German public broadcaster ZDF to co-produce three new animated series. Included in the lineup is CGI preschool offering Zigby, based on HarperCollins Children’s Books popular publishing franchise about a zebra who trots into trouble.
With its final partner now on-board, the 52 x 11-minute series that also involves Avrill Stark Entertainment, Zebra Productions, Big Animation, ABC Australia and Canada’s Treehouse TV is expected to deliver in the fall.
ZDF has also come in to help get Zeke’s Pad, a 26 x 24-minute CGI series from MyPad Productions and Avrill Stark Entertainment, wrapped up by February 2009.
This one targets eight- to 12-year-olds and has been presold to YTV in Canada and Seven Network in Australia.
And looking a little farther down the road, the German pubcaster will help Flying Bark Productions develop Space Blog, a 26 x 30-minute sci-fi comedy series.
