US preschool player picks Irish toon

New York City-based HIT Entertainment has inked a broadcast deal with 24/7 diginet PBS KIDS Sprout for Dublin, Ireland-based Jam Media's preschool series Picme.

New York City-based HIT Entertainment has inked a broadcast deal with 24/7 diginet PBS KIDS Sprout for Dublin, Ireland-based Jam Media’s preschool series Picme.

Developed in-house by Jam, the show combines Flash animation with proprietary software to enable viewers photos to appear alongside a cast of animal characters in the 40 x five-minute series.

Already sold into more than 75 territories across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Japan, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, North Africa and North America, Picme won the 2005 KidScreen Pitch It competition at the annual event.

The series will debut on PBS KIDS Sprout on May 5, 2008 as part of its new ‘Sharing Show block’ airing 3 pm to 6 pm weekdays.
