Disney Channel Worldwide has snapped up Aardman Animations’ Shaun the Sheep spin-off, Timmy for broadcast in 2009.

Stop-motion Timmy marks Aardman’s first foray into preschool and focuses on the title character, an adorable lamb, who wanders the farmyard learning from his assortment of colorful friends.

The series will premiere on Playhouse Disney in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

The creative producer and supervising director is BAFTA winner Jackie Cockle (Bob the Builder, Noddy). Aardman’s Miles Bullough takes the reins as executive producer.
