Smiley Licensing, which owns the round yellow icon, has appointed six international licensing agents for the brand.

Digikore Studios has signed on to represent the brand in India and in Korea it’s IPPark. Tact Communications, based in Tokyo, will rep the brand in Japan, while Copyright Licensing will do so in the Middle East.

The Smiley face is arguably one of the most recognisable symbols in the world. The cheerful yellow-and-black logo was trademarked in 1971
