Indie producer Novel Entertainment has tapped Little Bird Rights to distribute Horrid Henry around the globe, excluding the UK.

Commissioned by CiTV in the UK, the 52 x 11-minute 2-D series will be shopped around the upcoming MIPTV by Little Bird.

Targeting kids six to 11, the comedy has most recently been sold to Disney Channel in France, along with ZDF Germany, RTE Eire, RUV Iceland, SVT Sweden, NRK Norway and YLE Finland. Deals for broadcast in South Africa, Turkey and Portugal are also in negotiation.

The series is based on the books written by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross (published by Orion Children’s Books). With sales fast approaching 11 million books in the UK alone, Henry titles are available in 27 countries worldwide and have been translated into 22 languages.
