People moves: Paramount names Corcoran as new president of consumer products

Paramount Pictures, a subsidiary of Viacom, has tapped Michael Corcoran as the new president of its consumer products and recreation group.

Paramount Pictures, a subsidiary of Viacom, has tapped Michael Corcoran as the new president of its consumer products and recreation group.

Corcoran will report to Rob Moore, Paramount Pictures vice chairman, and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s worldwide licensing, consumer products and themed entertainment activities. In this newly created role, he will spearhead a broad range of licensing and merchandising programs to extend the Paramount brand and its properties across a variety of categories such as theme parks, toys, apparel, themed restaurants and book publishing.

Corcoran comes to Paramount from NBC Universal, where he served in several senior marketing, finance and operations roles including EVP, chief administrative officer and CFO of Universal Parks and Resorts.

Michael Bartok, EVP of licensing, will continue in his role and now reports to Corcoran.
