Lego Group has inked a deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products for construction toy rights to upcoming big-budget extravaganza Speed Racer.

Under the agreement, Lego is producing four constructible racing playsets under its Lego Racers brand, scheduled to race onto store shelves in April, ranging in price from US$19.99 to US$59.99.

Builders and collectors alike will appreciate the inclusion of multiple authentic racers in each set for head-to-head racing.

Many of the characters from the live-action movie will be Lego-ized for the set.

Speed Racer written and directed by Matrix mavens Larry and Andy Wachowski rolls out on the big screen on May 9.
