Publisher Penguin has picked up international rights for new CGI series Animalia from Animalia Productions and PorchLight Entertainment.
Under the new agreement, Penguin will develop and publish an array of products based on Animalia, which is based on the Graeme Base’s picture book of the same name. Storybooks, activity and coloring books, readers and novelty books are in the offing.
Penguin is also publishing educational books that expand upon the curriculum material present in the series that currently airs on PBS Kids Go!
The first products of this multi-year agreement are expected to be available at retail stores in the US this fall and in Australia and New Zealand in August.
In addition to being broadcast on PBS, Animalia airs on BBC1, CBC and Network Ten in Australia.
