The UK home office of HIT Entertainment has sewn up a licensing deal with distance and classroom language-training company Linguaphone Group that will see Pingu taking part in a global preschool English-language training program.

Pingu’s English is Linguaphone Group’s first character-based preschool English-language course, intended to help kids ages three to seven learn the language. In addition, Pingu’s English is aiming to provide lessons in socialization and early math and computer skills.

Each student will receive a course pack consisting of DVDs, study books, song and story books, interactive online learning materials and an activity pack that includes character figurines and coloring supplies. Linguaphone is rolling out the course in Asia and Europe over the coming months.
