People moves: Genius Products ups execs

Santa Monica, California-based Genius Products has appointed Matthew Smith as president of the company’s operating unit, effective January 1.

Smith is stepping over from his SVP of media development at Blockbuster, and will now lead Genius’s continued retail expansion and the co-production and distribution of Genius films.

Additionally, Genius has promoted three execs to keep momentum going. Former EVP of sales Mitch Budin has been upped to EVP and GM, while EVP and GM Christine Martinez will take the role of EVP of corporate strategy and Michael Radiloff gets bumped up to EVP of production and acquisitions from his EVP of marketing post.
