On the heels of landing carriage in Eastern Europe earlier this month, new 24-hour preschool television channel JimJam is getting ready to launch its first feed across Central Europe and add another 1.4 million subscribers to its viewer ranks.

The move ups the channel’s existing reach on Sky Italia children’s package, and JimJam is set to hit more than six million households by early 2008. Also, English, Polish, Hungarian and Czech versions are available, and a Romanian channel is due to launch in January 2008.

Owners Chellomedia and Hit Entertainment will continue to work on landing more carriage deals throughout 2008. The current channel lineup, not surprisingly, runs heavy on content culled from HIT’s series library, including Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam and Kipper.
