PorchLight Home Entertainment is building up its new DVD distribution schedule for 2008 via an aggressive acquisition campaign.
The new division of the L.A.-based prodco has acquired to the DVD rights to Aussie series FARMkids from FARMkids Pty Ltd.
In the tradition of Over the Hedge and Barnyard, the series follows a bunch of fast-talking pampered city animals who are transplanted to a rural setting. Production on the first season of the CGI show is nearing completion, and a FARMkids movie special is planned for release in 2010.
PHE has also picked up The Little Playdates series of preschool live-action titles from The Little Playdates Company.
