Toronto, Canada-based Itoys has snagged the master toy license for upcoming Paramount/Nickelodeon Movies feature The Spiderwick Chronicles from Paramount Licensing.
Driving the line of Spiderwick toys is the Interactive Seeing Stone, an electronic game that lets players see, hear, seek out and capture creatures from the movie. It features digital overlays of creatures that appear in the movie and will retail for US$29.99.
Action figures (US$9.99 each) based on protagonist Jared Grace and fantastical creatures Mulgarath, Hogsquel and Red Cap are another key product category for the toyco. The goods are set to hit mass retail in January, a few weeks before the film’s North American theatrical release on February 15, 2008.
