Egmont Group has named Elizabeth Law as the VP and publisher for its new US subsidiary.
Egmont USA will start operations in January and has tapped the former VP and associate publisher of Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers to help get things started stateside.
The company intends to publish its first slate of young adult and middle-grade fiction in time for fall 2009 and will focus on trade, school and library distribution channels.
The fledging division has also recently signed a deal with Random House to handle its US distribution.
