Disney Channel launches first French HD Channel

Disney Channels EMEA is going hi-def with the launch of Disney Cinemagic. The new premium family HD movie channel goes live in France and other French speaking territories on Friday, November 30 at 8:30 p.m.

Cinemagic HD is the first children’s and family HDTV channel in the French market and will broadcast approximately 50% of its films in native HD in the next 12 months.

After launching in the UK in March 2006, Disney Cinemagic successfully expanded into France in September. The channel is exclusive to Canalsat in France and will is available to subscribers of the Canalsat Family Pack.
