Sony Computer Entertainment America has unveiled the first PC-compatible PlayStation Store in North America.

The site (store.playstion.com) allows PSP users to access PlayStation network games, video content and services over the internet through their PCs and lets users establish their own PlayStation Network account, download free content or purchase content directly from PlayStation for use on PC and PlayStation Portables. Previously, these types of downloads could only be carried out via the PS3 console.

PlayStation Network account users will be able to use their existing usernames and passwords to log into the new store.
