On the heels of the departure of its former head honcho, Monika Merz, to TRU Japan, Toys ‘R’ Us Canada has upped Kevin Macnab to the position of president, effective immediately.

Macnab takes the helm from his most recent post as VP of finance, real estate and information technology at TRU Canada.

In his new role, Macnab now oversees all merchandising, marketing and operational activities for the company’s 67 Canadian outlets and reports to Ron Boire, president of TRU North America.

Before joining the toy retailer in May 2000, Macnab held key positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Marks & Spencer and D’Allaird’s.
