Nickelodeon Australia has named Bridget the Goddess by Monkeystack the winner of its Land a Pilot! project, held at the SPAA Conference 2007 that took place on the continent’s Gold Coast this week.

The contest saw a total of seven finalists each pitch a five-minute program proposal, during the Ready Steady Pitch section of the annual conference. According to Nick Oz, the winning entry handily met the ‘heart + fart + smart’ criteria it’s been looking for in animation projects. Monkeystack will now receive a US$20,000 contribution from Nick that will go towards moving the project into the piloting stage.

Nickelodeon’s Land a Pilot! Project was a new feature at the annual SPAA Conference, hosted by the association for the independent film and TV industry in Australia. The contest was open to all registered SPAA delegates, who could then submit a concept outline and key design to Nickelodeon for consideration.
