4Kids Entertainment posted a US$4.2 million drop in Q3 revenues, making for an overall decline in sales of US$14.4 million over the first nine months of the year compared to 2006 numbers.
Net revenues for Q3 totalled US$12.2 million, down from Q3 2006’s US$17.6 million take. For the nine months ended September 30, 2007, the company generated US$39.1 million, falling south of last year’s US$53.5 million, and has posted a net loss of US$6.6 million. Last year at this time, 4Kids marked a net income gain of US$1.3 million.
Chairman and CEO Al Kahn said the results were disappointing, but pointed to the official launch of the Chaotic Trading Card Game and companion website last week as an important step in kick-starting sales in the next year.
