People moves: CN taps Sorcher to take reins as content chief

Veteran television executive and producer Robert Sorcher has been named chief content officer at Cartoon Network.

Veteran television executive and producer Robert Sorcher has been named chief content officer at Cartoon Network.

Sorcher is now responsible for driving the network’s overall content strategy, including hatching original series, determining acquisitions and the creating long form and special events. Along with managing the team of content execs, he’s also overseeing production at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California.

Sorcher joins the 24/7 tooncaster from parent company Turner’s AMC Network, where he served as EVP of programming and production since 2002, supervising program development and scheduling.
