Universal Studios Home Entertainment Canada has picked up DVD rights to five properties in one fell swoop from Nelvana Enterprises. The seven-year deal starts this fall, granting Universal the license to produce and market DVD releases for Nelvana’s Jane and the Dragon, Grossology, Di-Gata Defenders, Ruby Gloom and a Franklin feature film.

All told, the deal encompasses more than 150 eps and has the potential for a two-year extension. Initial product should start rolling out to Canadian retailers later this year.
