Disney Channel has started production on a new series called Special Agent Oso for its preschool block Disney Playhouse. Actor Sean Astin (aka Sam of Lord of the Rings fame) is voicing the lead character Oso, a lovable but bumbling special agent who enlists viewers help to him complete his missions.

Each episode contains two, 11-minute adventures and original music that reference the classic spy genre in a kid-friendly way, but also gives parents and caregivers something to chew on. And the Disney Television Animation team is using a mix of digital cut-out, CGI, Photoshop and Flash animation to bring Special Agent Oso to the small screen. A delivery date has yet to be set.
