Universal Music Publishing Group has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing administration agreement with innovative New York-based toonhouse Animation Collective. Under the agreement, UMPG will administer the prodco’s entire catalogue of original music created for its kids series, including Ellen’s Acres, Thumb Wrestling Federation: TWF and Kappa Mikey.

All of Animation Collective’s series on-air, in development and in production feature original pop and rock songs and the deal will enable better worldwide administration of song rights and build distribution opportunities. The songs from AC’s latest series in development to be unveiled at MIPCOM this week, Dancing Sushi, will help to fuel the catalogue. The 26 x one-minute comedy feature four pieces of fish that escape from a sushi bar with the dream of becoming the world’s biggest pop stars. Check out www.dancingsushi.com for a sneak-peek.
