Canal Plus has picked up all French broadcast rights including pay-TV, cable, internet and mobile rights to black-and-white short series The Imp, and will act as the property’s licensing agent in the region.

Produced by Red Kite, Screen 21 and TVC and distributed by BRB Internacional, The Imp is an irreverent 65 x 90-second CGI series about an evil doer who just can’t seem to get the evil doing part right that currently airs in Spain on TVC and on Cartoon Network US. Canuck broadcaster YTV will start airing the series shortly.

BRB, meanwhile, is developing a broad merchandising and licensing program that should start rolling out in the new year.
