People moves: Nick bolsters emerging markets team

The Nickelodeon Emerging Markets team has added three key execs to help grow business across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Russia.

Alex Chien joins the team in London as head of Nickelodeon Emerging Markets, and is now responsible for managing existing Nickelodeon channels in the region as well as focusing on further expanding the net’s presence throughout the region. Previously, Chien was VP of creative and content for Nickelodeon Networks Asia, where she directed the net’s creative strategy across local channels and programming blocks.

Erinn Thompson has been appointed to the newly created role of program and acquisitions manager at Nickelodeon Emerging Markets. Based in London, Thompson oversees all programming, scheduling and acquisitions for Nick in the region. Hailing from Disney Channel UK, where she was an acquisitions supervisor, Thompson now reports to Chien.

Additionally, Lisa Wakefield has been hired as the unit’s marketing executive. In this newly created role, Wakefield will be responsible for handling all marketing activity and creative across the region.
