Heading into its third year under the leadership of Louis Fournier, Montreal, Canada-based Galakids has two new projects currently in development with Canadian nets and will be looking for co-pro partners at MIPCOM.

Cartoon Gene, in development with Teletoon, is a live-action/CGI hybrid tween comedy series that follows the adventures of Eugene as he struggles with hormone-driven cartoon DNA traits that surface at the most inopportune times.

Next up, 2-D toon Surly Acres is in development with the leading Canadian kidsnet YTV. The series tells the tale of a group of kids who live at a campground year-round; it’s targeting the core-kid six to 11 demo.

The toonhouse is will be working the Cannes fest in hopes of securing co-pro and international broadcast deals for both series to put them into production by 2008.
