IP house Coolabi has inked a deal to acquire children’s TV specialist Indie Kids, based in its hometown of London, England.

Indie Kids, the boutique production company behind such series as The Large Family and Fungus The Bogeyman, will no longer trade under the name, and all Indie Kids commissions and formats will now be produced by Coolabi. Indie Kids co-founder and creative director Dan Maddicott, meanwhile, will be joining Coolabi as an executive producer, reporting to the company’s head of children’s programming, Julian Scott.

Jeremy Banks, Coolabi CEO, said the deal was part of the company’s ongoing strategy to diversify its property portfolio and expand its reach.
