London, England’s Parthenon Entertainment has acquired the exclusive international rights to Roman Mysteries, the epic BBC live-action children’s series based on best-selling books by Caroline Lawrence.

A co-production between the BBC and UK production company The Little Entertainment Group, Roman Mysteries>/i> tells the story of four friends struggling through one of history’s most turbulent times. Budgeted at US$18 million for two seasons, the project is the BBC’s largest-ever children’s drama commission.

Season one garnered consistently high ratings on BBC1 and CBBC earlier this year, and a follow-up run went into production in August and will be delivered December 2007.
