Dan Dare comes out of retirement

Aviator and entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson has announced that Virgin Comics will be bringing super hero Dan Dare out of retirement. The new series will be published monthly beginning November 2007 and will be written by Garth Innis, author of The Boys and Preacher.

Aviator and entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson has announced that Virgin Comics will be bringing super hero Dan Dare out of retirement. The new series will be published monthly beginning November 2007 and will be written by Garth Innis, author of The Boys and Preacher.

Dan Dare has been a comic icon since 1950 when his space adventures first captivated a UK audience, selling nearly one million copies each week in the pages of Eagle Comics at its peak.

The Dan Dare Corporation is the global rights holder for the IP, and produced the CGI animates series Dan Dare: Pilot of the Future in 2001.
