• Vistors to Disneyfairies.com have created close to 2.5 million unique Fairies using the Create-A-Fairy feature since the Disney Online-powered site launched in January 2007. The announcement was made in conjunction with the debut of the second Fairies book authored by Gail Carson Levine, Fairy Haven and the Quest for the Wand.

• And counting: US sales of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows have surpassed 11.5 million copies in the book's first 10 days at retail. To date, 350 million books in the Potter saga have been sold worldwide.

• Look out Potter. Props go out to KidScreen's own cartoonist Jim Benton. The sixth book in his Dear Dumb Diary series, The Problem With Here Is That It's Where I'm From, has just cracked the top 10 on the New York Times Bestsellers List for kids paperbacks.
